Untitled Exhibition
A one-day exhibition by architect Chris Briffa at 157, Old Theatre Street, Valletta will put on display an array of original objects which he has designed over the past two years, fusing furniture with art. The exhibition is an attempt to augment a connection between beauty and function, and uses sketches and their frames as the tools to create this relationship. The exhibition will be on display from 10am to 7pm.

Analogue
An exhibition of pioneering video art from UK, Canada and Poland from 1968 to 1988, at the Upper Galleries of St James Cavalier, Valletta.
Through a series of exhibitions, screenings, performances and discussions Analogue, aims to illuminate the early histories of artists’ video, linking the work of artists in the UK, Canada and Poland in order to broaden an understanding of how, in the course of thirty years, a versatile and politically charged medium made the transition from the margins to the mainstream of contemporary practice.

Until 18 November
Work in 20th Century Maltese art
An exhibition of paintings representing manual labour on the island over the century, curated by Dennis Vella at the Main Hall of St James Cavalier. In Vella’s words: “The main occupations that have interested Maltese artists working in the twentieth century are stone masonry and building, fishing and harbour-work and agriculture. On the other hand, due to their lack of obvious pictorial appeal, trades and jobs that have hardly ever been treated are industrial ship repair and construction, besides mass-manufacture in factory environments. As can be imagined, hardly anyone has bothered with office workers.”

Until 16 December
Caravaggio and Paintings of Realism in Malta
The long-awaited exhibition will be held at the St John’s Co-Cathedral Annex, Valletta as part of the Caravaggio 400 celebrations, marking Caravaggio’s presence in Malta.
