Javier Solana in first live transmission with Maltese parliament

The parliamentary foreign affairs committee will next Monday be in direct video conference with Javier Solana, the European Council’s secretary-general and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy.
Committee president Jason Azzopardi said the transmission will last for 50 minutes, adding the following, reassuring proviso: “unless some international crisis threatens to cancel the transmission.”
It will be the first time that a parliamentary delegation will be addressed by Solana, a former NATO secretary-general and today the EU’s official foreign policy chief, a post which carries a €40 million budget, most of which goes to Balkan operations.
