PhDoh! University messengers can’t read English

If you ever sent a parcel to University but it never made it to the intended recipient, you might want to know that in all probability, the messenger was illiterate.
Despite the pretences of Malta’s highest academic institution, it turns out that a good number of messengers employed at Tal-Qroqq cannot read and write.
In fact, the university’s office for human resources management and development is holding a training course for illiterate messengers until the end of April.
The Basic Reading and Writing Skills in English for Messengerial Staff is a tailor-made course for such personnel.
According to the latest campus news bulletin, “the aim of this training course is to help messengerial staff enhance their basic essential skills of reading and writing in English.”
Given that they possibly could not even read the bulletin, staff were also informed of this training course in person.
