Auditor for Enemalta chairman A former PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) senior partner, John Bonello, has reportedly accepted finance minister Tonio Fenech’s invitation to serve as Enemalta’s next chairman following the announced resignation of Alex Tranter. Parliament will discuss a motion on the Delimara power station contract on Thursday, while the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is expected to look into the 200-page report by the Auditor General into the BWSC contract, which takes Tranter to task over his conflict of interest as a business partner of one of BWSC’s local partners, Vassallo Builders Group. Contacted by MaltaToday, John Bonello insisted on a “no comment” about his imminent appointment, adding that he is “not in the habit of discussing or disclosing information.” Bonello, 61, has spent the whole of his career with PWC where he has been a partner for 33 years. He has filled every important role in the firm, from its technical development, to handling most of the firm’s larger clients, to becoming the firm’s mainstay in its relationships with the PWC global network. John Bonello retired as senior partner at PWC Malta last September, and is one of the firm’s longest serving partners. Any comments? |
