New acquisitions by Heritage Malta In its pursuit to improve its permanent display, Heritage Malta’s Ethnography section – housed within the Inquisitor’s Palace – is conducting research on two valuable models. One represents the Manderaggio in Valletta before it made way for today’s Housing Estate, and the other portrays the city of Vittoriosa prior to the Second World War. Both feature as acquisitions for the years 1939-48 in the Museums Department Annual Reports. The Report also gives insights with regards to the model maker, a certain Ruzar Calleja of whom nothing else is known. It is in this light that I am addressing readers to help us in our research. Should anyone possess any information s/he is kindly requested to send an e-mail to kenneth.b.cassar@gov.mt or call on 2166 3731.
