Lessons to be learnt from Macedonian accountability

The Transport Minister for Macedonia has resigned following an incident at sea where a pleasure craft with holidaymakers sunk within seconds, allegedly due to over-loading. Most passengers survived. Apparently the transport minister felt he was responsible for the lack of development of the transport system which indirectly led to this incident. If a similar incident happened in Malta the respective minister might call out publicly for a police investigation but I am absolutely sure resignation would be far from his/her ethical (or non-ethical) mind. Maybe the Cabinet should organize a field trip to Macedonia to learn what accountability is all about!
