Man injures mother and son in Mosta shooting

Two people, a mother and her son, were injured in a shooting in the housing estate on Triq it-Truncetta, in Mosta yesterday.
The police said that a man who was on the roof of a residence shot at the 48-year-old woman and her 22-year-old son. Their condition is not yet known.
The incident, which took place at around 4:45 pm, is believed to be related to a traffic incident involving relatives of the victims, and the car belonging to Charlie Camilleri, also from Mosta.
The spat between the two parties, which started a fortnight ago, reportedly escalated in yesterday’s shooting incident.
Camilleri was said to have climbed on the roof of a residence with his shotgun, where he aimed down at the victims, who were in the front garden of their residence, hanging the washing.
The first shot was fired in air, but the other shot was directly aimed at the mother and son, hitting the woman in her neck and the man in his legs.
Camilleri was arrested, while the two victims have been taken to Mater Dei Hospital.
