Retort to ‘Inguanez-speaks’ I refer to the letter by H. Micallef entitled ‘Inguanez-speaks’ which appeared in last Sunday’s MaltaToday. I wish to inform Mr/Ms Micallef that both the title and the subtitle of my interview are the Editor’s or Mr James Debono’s responsibility and that I did not consult them. I would like to take this opportunity to inform your readers that I have never been asked by any Authority of the Maltese Church to advise on Malta’s political landscape. As to the rest of the letter, I have no intention to respond to Mr/Ms Micallef’s campanilism. There is no English term which translates well the original Italian term “campanilismo”. The nearest, perhaps, would be parochialism. However, common sense requires that, as regards interviews, answers should be read in the light of the questions put to the interviewee.
