Migrants discovered by ship’s crew

We refer to the article “Migrants land, nine smuggled in container via Catamaran”, published in MaltaToday on 26 July.
We point out, for the sake of correctness, that the nine migrants were not “caught” by the Italian police “...on board the Virtu Ferries catamaran on arrival at Pozzallo” as reported. They were in fact discovered by the ship’s crew and handed over to the Italian police on arrival at Pozzallo.
Virtu Ferries operates a security system, as required by international maritime regulations, hence the discovery.
