It all seems very nice and well thought about. Except for one thing: what about the families who are going to lose their livelihood because of the Piano project? Nobody seems to have thought about them. As always the service they have rendered to the community (against payment of course) is no longer required.
This government has become notorious for the way it deals with the worker out there. It is a pity that the Maltese are being divided each time an issue crops up. The recent examples of people thrown out of work is endless – at Enemalta, Telemalta, Sea Malta, the dockyard workers, the Ricasoli industrial workers… And now all those who earned a living from the kiosks at the bus terminus and the shop owners just inside City gate. It is a neverending list.
Just divide and conquer. It is an old game which is still giving results. But is it morally right?
