First of all I would like to make it clear that it was not I, Byron Camilleri, who divulged the information to MaltaToday.
In fact, the article contains a lot of information about events which happened far before I was elected a local councillor in Fgura. What I did on my part was to respond by email to questions sent by the MaltaToday journalist.
Secondly, I really hope that the Fgura Mayor was not referring to me when he was quoted as saying that the councillor “voted against the majority” on several occasions. I would like to make it clear, that I never voted against the Labour majority, especially if it was agreed upon beforehand between us.
Thirdly, I would like to point out that in my written reply to Maltatoday, nowhere did I claim that the Mayor leaked information to the Nationalist media through Bonello.
I would like to point out at a small mistake I did make in my reply. In the last meeting mentioned by the said article, we were five Labour councillors present at the meeting and not six. The other councillor informed the Council beforehand that he could not attend to such meeting.
However, the meeting still had a quorum and could have taken place if the Mayor did not adjourn the meeting, exactly after it started. Without informing us beforehand, he said that he need to leave and therefore the meeting could not continue as there would be no quorum.
I stand by all the other claims I made.
