Enough historical revisionism The PN wants to remind us of parts of the past that were marked by events from which they think they can gain political advantage. But the PN might also want to remember other important historical events – such as the fact that the same party was against the idea of giving women the right to vote. Do they remember that they were against pensions, saying that old people would spend the money on wine? Do they want us to remember the large amount of housing estates and building plots given by the Mintoff administration to the working class? This move alone had built a foundation for Maltese families. Who can deny that new families are today the new slaves of capitalism? To interpret history, one has to investigate all of it, rather than selecting periods from it. I am sure that it would not be easy for the present PN politicians to explain their dirty past.
