Skimmed EP launch
The garage/post-punk band will be launching their debut EP, Your Head is Too Big For Your Crown at the Velo Lounge of Lo Squero, Floriana (below Public Library), with support by Brikkuni and DJ Bob. Doors open at 22:00. Entrance is €6; €10 with EP.

September 26
Philharmonic orchestra season
The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of its resident conductor Michael Laus launches its 2009/2010 season with a concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. Event includes performance of Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor and Beethoven’s Symphony no. 3. Concert starts at 19:30pm, and tickets prices at €10, €20 and €30 available from the MCC booking office. 50% discount on stall and balcony tickets for students. October 9
Dripht + Dolls for Idols
Dripht will be reuniting for one show at Remedy Club, Paceville, with support from Dolls For Idols. Doors open at 21:30. Entrance is at €5; €10 with both Dripht EPs.

The Gaslamp Killer
The Californian genre-bending electro artist will be performing at Escape Club, Corinthia Marina Resort, St Julian’s at 22:00. He will be joined by local DJs Danjeli, Owen Jay, A.I., Big Dog Foundation, Synthact and Ezzy. Tickets are at €14.

2 Diaries
A joint exhibition by Carmel Bonello and Jeremy Ellul at the Heritage Malta Head Office, Old University Buildings in Merchants’ Street, Valletta. Opening hours Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00pm (closed on public holidays). On Saturday October 3 the exhibition will be open in the evening for the event of Notte Bianca.

Photography exhibition by the Malta University History Society (MUHS) in collaboration with the University of Malta Library by University of Malta students, dealing with 'Monuments and Sites' and 'Endangered Heritage', held on the ground floor of the University Library. Can be visited during Library opening hours: Monday Friday: 09:00 – 17:00; Saturday: 09:00 – 12:00.

QUIZ NIGHTS

Thursdays
Quiz Night Thursdays
Quiz at Ciao Fra, Sliema starts at 20:30. Each table booked is considered to be a team. Quiz packs containing 40 questions on different topics are given out to each team, who would in turn be given an hour’s time limit to fill in their answers. After the hour elapses, correct answers will be called out by the quizmaster, after which the winning table is announced. Winners receive a €20 discount off their bill. A free bottle of The Stump Jump (Australia), imported by Bicanter Wines, will be given to the winning table and runners up.
