The fifth day of the Lifecycle Challenge kicked off today, after cyclists traveled from Safranbolu to Cubuk in Turkey yesterday morning at 7am following their reasonably short distance Monday, when they all arrived at the Safranbolu accommodation by 4pm.
Yesterday’s was a long day with a distance of 240km to Cubuk which is a small university town located in the centre of Turkey, and which will take them a good 12 hours to complete.
The first two days were tough ones as regards gradients, however the long distances will put many cyclists under a different type of physical and psychological challenge.
Temperatures were as high as 35 degrees which also take its toll on all participants.
Only two cyclists are out of the challenge, one of which already had injuries before the event, and the other stopping from exhaustion towards the end of the second day.
