Two Gentlemen of Verona
This year's MADC Shakespeare will take place as part of Evenings on Campus at the MITP Courtyard, Valletta and is directed by Polly March. The all-female cast features Marylu Coppini, Veronica Stivala, Maria Buckle, Isabella Attard, Sue Scantlebury, Maria Somers, Jane Pillow, Katherine Brown, Elaine Camilleri, Angele Galea, Rachael Tedesco Triccas, Marie Claire Pellegrini, Hillary Briffa, Julia Calvert and Paula Fleri Soler.

Tambourine workshop
The Etnika project will be putting together a tambourine workshop consisting of five 90 minute sessions and priced at €50. Those interested are to get in touch on ilmahzen@gmail.com for details on venue and times.

Tribal Belly Dance classes
Tribal Dance Malta is organising a 10-week belly dance course at Activezone Gym, Msida (next to Junior College). Each course consists of a one-hour class once a week. The Tuesday class starts at 19:30 (except for the first three weeks where it will start at 20:00) and the Thursday class starts at 21:00 each week. The fee for each course is €80. All Piazzolla!
A concert of the music of Astor Piazzolla for cello and strings at the President’s Palace Courtyard, Valletta from 21:30. Featuring acclaimed cellist Enrico Dindo. Admission is at €15.

Street theatre performance by the Spanish group Azar Teatro at Republic Street, Valletta from 10:30.

Mendelssohn Chamber Music Recital
A commemoration of the bicentennial of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s birth at the President’s Palace Courtyard, Valletta from 21:30. Including Piano Sextet in D op. 110 of 1824, scored for piano, violin two violas, cello and double bass, and the famous Piano Trio in D minor op. 49 of 1839 as delivered by Italian pianist Roberto Cominati in collaboration with Enrico Dindo and members of the Solisti di Pavia. Admission is at €15.

Marsovin Summer Wine Festival
A feast of wine, food, and Mediterranean culture at Hastings Gardens, Valletta. The gardens will be split into four sections each section representing a different country; Italy, Malta, Spain and Morocco. Each section will host its own musicians playing and performing typical music from each respective country. From 19:30 onwards. Admission is at €5.

July 4
20th Century Wind Quintet Music
The Cosmos Ensemble returns to the Maltese stage with a concert of contemporary masterpieces for wind quintet at Auberge de Castille, Valletta from 21:00. For the occasion Cosmos will be joined by clarinettist Alison Huges who will play the bass clasinet in a rare performance of Janacek’s Mladi. The programme also includes music by Jacques Ibert, Gyorgy Ligeti, Charles Camilleri. Entrance is free.

July 5, 6
Triana 41010 – Puerto Flamenco
Puerto Flamenco are back on the Maltese stage with a brand new show to be held at Argotti Gardens, Floriana from 21:00. Francesca Grima, Jesus Herrera, Antonio Castro “Antoñete”, Tamara Lopez Creo, Jose Guerrero ‘El Tremendo’, Eduardo Trasierra, Andrej Vujicic. Admission is at €15.

Hänsel & Gretel - A Fairytale Opera
Die Märchenhafte Operncompagnie, in their first performance on the island, present an operatic version of the classic fairy tale at the President’s Palace Courtyard, Valletta from 21:30. Admission is at €10.
