Political party news chiefs step down

Labour’s head of news Miriam Dalli has called it a day, stepping down from chief of One News right before a crucial European Parliament election for leader Joseph Muscat, who faces his first electoral test.
Mark Farrugia, formerly the PL’s media coordinator and recently an assistant to Muscat, is reported to have stepped in Dalli’s shoes, alongside One journalist Matthew Carbone. Dalli will still be running the length of her contract presenting TX, the current affairs programme.
Likewise, the former head of news at the PN’s organ Net TV also called it a day in recent weeks – Mario Xuereb is today a press officer at the higher education institute EIE (European Institute of Education). Xuereb retains a presence on Net TV with current affairs productions.
