The Pope and AIDS

In 2006 in Europe, almost a quarter million new infections of Chlamydia were registered. This is an asymptomatic pathology in 70% of the cases but it’s associated with masculine and feminine sterility, ectopic pregnancies, and it may increase the risk of contracting AIDS or lymphogranuloma venereum.
Enough reasons to be worried. But it’s unbelievable that sanitary authorities ignore the warnings of the WHO of a 14% possibility of failure in condom use while fighting AIDS. In Africa, NGOs and governments distribute condoms without attacking the endemic problem of sexual promiscuity.
The Pope warned Africa of this, recommending chastity and loyalty in marriage as the right answer. It’s proven cheap and effective to avoid the increase of HIV positives, which in Africa alone stand at 22.5 million, significantly because they’ve believed in the false promises of safe sex while using condoms.
