Tax incentive for women I wish to clarify some points raised in the article of the Sunday 19 April, entitled, ‘Baby tax cut suits mums just fine’ which refers to the tax incentive for women returning to work after maternity. NCW agrees with the capping as non-capping may give rise to abuse. The €2,000 capping covers both low and high salaries, up to €18,900 for single computation for income tax purposes and €23,620 in the case of a married couple. In the meantime NCW will be studying the impact of this measure and the number of women making use of it and will then submit its recommendations to the Ministry of Finance for fine-tuning if necessary
