Driver falls two storeys down valley

A British man resident in Malta was yesterday involved in serious traffic accident on the St Paul’s Bay bypass, when his car fell into the valley below.
Police were alerted to the incident at 9:30am. By the time it reached the scene of the accident, police realised the car had actually veered off the bypass into the valley, two storeys below, just hours earlier.
The motorist was unconscious for several hours, before coming to his senses to emerge from his car. He then climbed back up the valley and onto the road.
Another motorist passing by stopped to assist him and called for medical assistance.
The man was found to have serious head injuries. In the meantime, the Civil Protection Department was called on site to confirm there were no other passengers in the car.
