Jason Micallef sues PN media for libel

The Labour secretary-general Jason Micallef has presented yet another libel suit against Media.Link, the PN media house, and reporter Nathaniel Attard for allegedly “untrue stories intended to tarnish and defame” him.
The reports concern comments carried by MaltaToday by Jason Micallef, who said he did not receive an invitation to the investiture ceremony of George Abela as president last Sunday.
According to PN internet organ maltarightnow.com, Micallef was sent an invitation which he said he had not received.
After inquiring with the Office of the Speaker for the reason why he had not been invited, he was sent an invitation which maltarightnow.com claimed he refused because he had plans to go abroad.
Micallef has also sued the PN media for libel over a story carried by In-Nazzjon on the payment of VAT refunds on car registration tax.
