Is there no shame in Malta any more?

As reported in KullHadd of Sunday, 3 August, a delegation of three Parliamentarians namely Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, David Agius and Labour MP Joe Mizzi, have left Malta for Malaysia to participate in a Commonwealth Conference to discuss and debate, ironically among other subjects, the protection of the environment, conflict of interest and corruption.
For obvious reasons there can be no doubt that the honest Maltese citizen cannot restrain himself from exploding into laughter at the mention of this enigmatic trio that, due to the fame of one of their number can only be at best described, a delegation of dubious probity!
Who, may I ask, delegated a Labour MP, in this case, Joe Mizzi, to join this profoundly profane party of so-called politicians?
Is this matter another fine example of Labour’s new leadership tactics? Has pride become such a rare commodity within the Labour Party?
To the ordinary honest Maltese citizen it appears more likely to be a ‘scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours’ situation so as not to rock too much the political boat for the next interminable five long years!
Unless Labour aborts immediately from these damaging wayward ways and embarks upon real pragmatic strategy, the probability is that after the present slow five-year interlude, a subsequent five shall probably follow suit.
