Foreigner dies in freak accident

A foreign national died yesterday in the capital after falling to the ground and hitting his head.
The man, 59, was walking along the St Barbara Bastions in Valletta when he allegedly fell, hit his head and lost all consciousness.
The police were called on the scene, where a doctor who was in the area at the time of the accident was giving the man first aid in an attempt to get him back to consciousness.
The man was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital where he died soon after despite the medical care given to him.
The autopsy will be carried out next Monday, although no foul play is suspected.
