EVENINGS ON CAMPUS
The 16th edition of the Evenings on Campus is currently being held at the Old University Courtyard, St Paul’s Street, Valletta. Tickets for all events are available from www.maltaticket.com and the following outlets: Vodafone, Exotique, Agenda, NewsKiosk, Bookends and at the door. All events start at 20:30. Below are the events scheduled for this week.

August 11
Magnolia
Screening of the Paul Thomas Anderson Oscar-winning 1999 opus. The film interweaves nine separate yet connected storylines, focusing on the interactions among several people during one day in the San Fernando Valley, in Los Angeles, California. Out of the ensemble cast, Tom Cruise was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards, and won the award in the same category at the Golden Globes of 2000.

August 13, 14
La Mandragola
A free adaptation from the play by Niccolò Machiavelli presented by the Compagnia Balagàn in collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura. The show has an open scenario and the play will be characterised by the use of musical interludes and noises ‘off’ in the form of musical and percussion instruments. The basic needs of Man will be emphasised: hunger, love, power and sex whilst the involvement of the audience will also be encouraged. The dialogue and action will be quick in every sense, light and rhythmic.

An event marking the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue
This exhibition explores how China gained influence as far away as Africa and was also the receiver of much foreign knowledge, through trade and exchange of ideas.

Anima di Pietroburgo
A photographic exhibition by Kenneth Scicluna at the Loggia, National Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta. Free Entrance. Open Monday to Sunday from 09.00 - 17.00 (Last Admission 16.30 ).

Life As It Happens – Valletta Waterfront Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
A photography exhibition documenting the story of the Valletta Waterfront since its launch three years ago. Set up on the waterfront parallel with the Atrium Carpark, it features over 80 photographs, some of them measuring over four metres. They record the various happenings since June 3, 2005 categorised in three themes: history, culture and cruising activities. Open from Monday to Sunday, between 10:00 and 22:00. Exhibition of paintings by Raphael Labro at the Cittadella Cultural Art Centre, Victoria, Gozo. Open daily from 10:00 to 16:00.
