As part of the Malta Arts Festival, the atmosphere in Strait Street will be livened up by music, food and drink. Starts at 7pm and goes on until 3am.

The Great Farsons Beer Festival

The Great Farsons Beer Festival starts tonight. It will be held at the Ta’ Qali Park until 5 August and will start at 8pm each night. Entrance and parking are free. The festival will feature live entertainment as well as a wide selection of local and international brews and food. For the first time this year, a special section og beers will also be served, available exclusively in export markets – Farsons Strong Ale, Lacto Milk Stout, Cisk Red and Cisk Extra Strong.
Tonight’s performers include: Debbie Scerri, Philip Vella, Alison White Dancers, Paul Abela’s Big Band, with the Rock Stage hosting Mindstate and The Rifffs.

THEATRE

Last performance tonight
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
MADC’s performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be held at the Royal Opera House ruins, moving away from San Anton Gardens, where the company’s Shakespeare plays have been held for the past 70 years. Cast includes Manuel Cauchi, Edward Mercieca, Faye Paris, Pia Zammit, Coryse Borg, Alan Montanaro and more.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.maltaticket.com and from Exotique (all outlets), Agenda Bookshops, Bookends and News Kiosk, Sliema. Ticket prices are Lm5, with Lm2 concessions for groundlings (standing). Performance starts at 9pm.

EXHIBITIONS

Generation
Australian born Mark Gerada's Generation paintings, on show at the St James Cavalier main hall, incorporate old images from photographs his Maltese grandfather and father took during his 1970’s childhood. Working on 60 canvases simultaneously, Mark works the photographic images into collages, combining them with layers of paint and bright colour.

World Heritage: Humanity's Gift to the Future
An exhibition produced by UNESCO and organised by Heritage Malta being shown as part of the Public Information and Consultation Campaign on the Management Plans for the Megalithic Temples of Malta. At the Lobby, National Museum of Archaeology, Valletta. Free Entrance. Open Monday to Sunday from 9am to 7pm (last admission at 6.30pm).

Malta in Fantasy
Anastasia Ponyatovskaya is holding an exhibition at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, entrance to the Cotoner Hall. The main door is the corner with North Street and Mediterranean Street , Valletta. Opening hours from 10am till 7pm. All items will be on sale. http://www.arteforte.net

Tila
A collective exhibition of paintings and sculpture at the Heritage Malta Head Office, Merchants Street, Valletta including artists Dominic Dimech, Astrid Zammit, Nadege Cassar, Josephine Cachia, Noel Petroni and Kevin Attard. Free Entrance. Open from 8am to 4pm. Until 31 August Layers Gallery G will be hosting an exhibition of Julian Calabrese’s paintings. The exhibition halls and the gallery shop (no 4, Sir Ugo Mifsud Street, Lija) are open to the public between 9am and 5pm on weekdays and 9:30am and 12:30pm on Saturdays.

Voyage & Voir: Travellers of the Grand Tour
Exhibition organised by Heritage Malta and the Comune Palazzolo Acreide as part of EU programme Interreg IIIA Italia – Malta, at the St Angelo Hall, Malta Maritime Museum, Vittoriosa. Open Monday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm (last admission 4.30pm).

Last show tonight
National Orchestra Goes Pop
The fourth edition of the 'The National Orchestra Goes Pop' concert which will take place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre at 9pm, under the musical direction of Sigmund Mifsud. The concert will feature a 60 piece orchestra performing together with leading popular entertainers.
Tickets are available from the MCC box office or by calling on 25595750/1 or ticket hotline 99774400. Tickets are priced Lm6 (Stalls) and Lm8 (Dress Circle). A discount will be given to all Vodafone customers, students’ card holders and also to senior citizens, upon presentation of a Karta Anzjan.

Love is in the Air - MIA concert
The Palace Courtyard will be hosting a vocal and orchestral concert with performers from Sweden, Austria and Malta. The concert will feature the Berwald Symphony Orchestra of Stockholm, Lydia Caruana (soprano), Dimitri Popov (tenor) and Manfred Honeck. Trio Saudade
Trio Saudade, a Maltese but Paris-based jazz band comprising of Oliver Degabriele, Sandro Zerafa and Beangrower’s Alison Galea, will be performing at Juul’s, Paceville.

Sayed Darwish

Carmine Lauri Recital
