NEWS | Wednesday, 03 October 2007 Animal theft at Razzett tal-Hbiberija The Razzett tal-Hbiberija yesterday reported the theft of over Lm1,000 worth of animals from its animal park.
Gordon Pace, fundraising manager at the park, said the animals were stolen between Sunday and Monday and that thieves had “brutally killed” a deer in the process of committing the crime. The park reported the theft of three barn owls, two golden pheasants, four mountain goats and a kid, an Amazon parrot, a baby deer, and a monkey worth Lm400. Pace said the animals had been stolen to the detriment of the children using the animal interaction therapy programmes. He said the theft had been clearly planned. “On behalf of all the staff at Razzett tal-Hbiberija allow me to highlight our sadness at such act. The direct victims of this crime are the children who benefit from the therapy we provide in this charity. We turn to the general public for any help anyone can give us,” Pace said. Any information can be communicated to the Razzett tal-Hbiberija on 21636526. Any comments? |
