Let us prey...

In view of the ongoing scandalous paedophile revelations within the Catholic Church, it seems that what a number of clerics meant by “let us pray” was actually “let us prey”.
No wonder I was always under the impression that when the local Church referred to “il-fidili” it never actually meant “the faithful” but rather “ic-cwiec”: that is “the gullible”.
