ARMS deny software fault

We refer to your article “IT fault rumbles utility billing company” published in your paper on Wednesday 20 January.
You have set up an imaginary story merely to harm the company’s reputation. We are informed that you sent questions on the subject to the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Communications, at 5pm of the date of publication. Immediately, we started preparing replies to the figments of your imagination published in your report.
The old water and electricity billing system was wound down a week before Christmas as part of the planned migration process of data from the old system onto the new SAP platform. The new system was turned on as scheduled on Monday 4 January 2010.
Considering still in the first days of operation, the new system is performing well. In addition, following the necessary checks to clarify all was working well, bills commenced to be generated on the 15th January 2010 and mailed on the following day. We do not have any information that there was any “incorrect calculation of the bills”.
