Pig slurry blockages

With reference to your article named ‘Pig slurry causes sewage discharge in Mellieha’, written by James Debono and published on MaltaToday on Sunday 11 October, we would like to inform you that the pig breeders cooperation (Kooporattiva ta’ min Irabbi l-Majjal – KIM) sent a memo dated 25 September 2009, whereby we informed our members (producers) that they have to get rid of their pig slurry in the authorised manholes – manholes which were authorised by the respective authority. We are hereby sending you a copy of the said memo.
The case mentioned in your article must not include all the producers. This article says that the blockage was caused by the pig slurry dumped by producers. We would have expected that before you issued such an article, you would have consulted with us.
