Ping pong on Marsaskala’s caravan site

The big question falls on whoever is telling the truth. James Debono reported in his article of 4 October that the Marsaskala local council, unbeknownst to everybody, has proposed the setting-up of a camping site in Marsaskala. Now faced with harsh criticism both from furious residents and the new elected councilors, the council has asked the MEPA chairman to scrap the application.
It is believed that once again the council failed to submit an objection against the application PA/00707/09 for the construction of a caravan site in Triq il-Blajjiet, Marsaskala submitted by applicant Mr Ray Farrugia on 24 February 2009. Once again, the Marsaskala mayor is blaming MEPA for not being informed of this project proposed on Outside Development Zone (ODZ).
MEPA has to answer to these accusations and put a stop to this ping pong situation. The only good thing that came out from the Mayor’s uncontrollable trap is that he gave a few tips on where couples with no roof over their heads should fornicate.
