Generics on the Maltese market

In the article ‘Medicines in Malta 40% more expensive than Europe’ of 12 August, it was stated that there are no generics of Alendronate, a medicine used for osteoporosis, on the Maltese market.
We would like to inform you that thanks to Arrow Generics, a company which invests heavily in Malta, the local population benefits from the availability of the generic of Alendronate. This has been on the market for the past eighteen months.
The introduction of Arrow’s alendronic acid has enhanced compliance, meaning that patients adhere to the treatment, as price does not hinder them from continuing this necessary treatment.
