Two Gentlemen of Verona
This year’s MADC Shakespeare will take place as part of Evenings on Campus at the MITP Courtyard, Valletta and is directed by Polly March. The all-female cast features Marylu Coppini, Veronica Stivala, Maria Buckle, Isabella Attard, Sue Scantlebury, Maria Somers, Jane Pillow, Katherine Brown, Elaine Camilleri, Angele Galea, Rachael Tedesco Triccas, Marie Claire Pellegrini, Hillary Briffa, Julia Calvert and Paula Fleri Soler.

WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES

July 18
Jazz Masterclass
Oliver Degabriele, Jim Funnell and Thibault Perriard will be holding a masterclass at the European Institute of Music and Arts at 22:00. The masterclass will be a generic one although the main focus will be around the rhythm section in a jaz group. Attendees are encouraged to bring their instruments (a double bass, piano and drumkit will be provided). Admission at €10 (€7 for Euro Institute students).

July 20 - August 1
Masquerade’s Summer Experience 2009
Workshop at Drama Centre, Valletta covering acting, dance and song, and how the creative borders between these areas become merged in both training and performance contexts. Tutors include actor Nick Potts, musical director Luke Thornton and Teacher/Choreographer Becky Elliott-Moore. The workshops will include daily classes in jazz dance, fitness, musical theatre song presentation, improvisation, textual studies, vocal technique, and choreography. Open to youngsters aged seven years up to adults. Participants will be grouped up according to age/experience. Afternoon and evening sessions to choose from. The Etnika project will be putting together a tambourine workshop consisting of five 90 minute sessions and priced at €50. Those interested are to get in touch on ilmahzen@gmail.com for details on venue and times.

Tribal Belly Dance classes
Tribal Dance Malta is organising a 10-week belly dance course at Activezone Gym, Msida (next to Junior College). Each course consists of a one-hour class once a week. The Tuesday class starts at 19:30 (except for the first three weeks where it will start at 20:00) and the Thursday class starts at 21:00 each week. The fee for each course is €80. A call for artists for an exhibition which is to coincide with the upcoming production Censor Me!!! (Banned from theatres near you). All artists are encouraged to forward any work related to the theme of censorship. All artforms are accepted and the number of entries per artist is open.
