Speed cameras

I can fully understand the Maltese anger toward speed cameras. For years they have been seem as cash machines for government and operators alike and done little if anything to reduce accidents. If the government want to reduce accidents then they would be far better off using alternative methods to slow people down, for example roundabouts as used in Australia. Alternatively if no one speeds very quickly the companies will lose interest in the cameras because they will still have to maintain them but begetting no income. Finance or lack of is the best way of getting rid of something.
