Next month we will have the opportunity to watch the cream of participants in the nine-ball competition, the Mosconi Cup, thanks to Snooker Promotions Malta.
This is a golden opportunity to watch European players competing against American opposition. The five players comprising the European team will have, amongst others, Malta ace Tony Drago, and a German, English, Dutch and a top Finnish player. The American team is not yet fully formed.
One has to mention the fact that although the Americans have an edge on the number of winnings in the competition, currently the European team is the holder of this coveted cup, held ultimately in America, with Drago being the captain of such a team.
Ninety per cent of bookings until now have been made by foreigners for next December’s event. Apart from the tourists point of view, which is certainly appealing and demanding in winter, enthusiasts of the game should be encouraged to attend and watch our talented player Tony Drago, who at one point in time was eighth in the worldwide professional snooker ratings, and to watch a new interesting game for the first time on our shores.
