Americans set an example to us and the rest of the world

I’m jealous of the Americans. I didn’t think they would but they actually voted in the best person for the job... they did what the Maltese never do and vote for the person with the best ideas, policies for a change towards a better life for the people. What the Americans did not do is vote for a party because they always vote for that party. Instead they voted without prejudice and without worrying about colour, religion, etc. The Americans also did the most important thing: get rid of the Christian conservatives. If only we could. If only we could get rid of conservative Christians from both parties, then maybe we can crawl out of the 19th century our mentality is stuck in, and try and join the 21st century.
Not going to happen when the conservative Christians are in power… how I wish there was some liberal to vote for in Malta. Maybe we can catch up with the western world then.

The turning of the tide
Friday’s collective protest by all Malta’s unions against the government’s revised utility tariffs should impart a powerful message to the Lawrence Gonzi administration: that there is a limit to political arrogance, and one crosses the line only at one’s own risk>>
