Out of the fire

Seven local female ceramic artists have brought together their work in a collective exhibition at Heritage Malta, Old University Buildings, Merchant Street, Valletta.
The group – Sue Mifsud, Julie Apap, Zell Osborne, Barbara Attard Pettett, Deborah Marmara, Talia Maggi and Rosella Schembri - will be exhibiting an extensive range of ceramic artwork using many of the different techniques and firing methods that this art form allows. Cafe Brazil

FRiNGE! Productions presents Cafe Brazil, the annually anticipated concert which exposes passion and virtuosity in Brazilian music at MITP, St Christopher's Street, Valletta from 20:30. This year’s line-up includes pandero extraordinaire Sergio Krakowsky, flutist Jocelyn Mienniel and guitarist Sandro Zerafa. Special guest for this concert is none other than Brazilian singer Catia Werneck, who performed in Malta last year and is one of the most prominent Brazilian singers in Paris at the moment. Botafogo will be presenting their own all-new repertoire in combination with a selection of sambas and bossa novas including original songs by Catia as well as Brazilian standards. The 24th edition of The Malta Book fair will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta and will include book launches, creative workshops, readings and literary evenings. Entrance and activities are free of charge. Opening hours are 09:00 - 13:30 and 17:00 - 21:00 on Wednesday and Thursday, 09:00 - 13:30 and 17:00 - 22:00 on Friday. On Saturday, the fair will be open from 09:00 - 12:30 and 16:00 - 22:00 and 10:00 - 12:30, 15:00 - 21:00 on Sunday.
