The BPC Collection

BPC International will be opening up part of its collection of Maltese art to the general public, as part of its 50th Anniversary celebration activities in a purposely-arranged minimalist gallery in Spartans Street, Hamrun (adjacent to the Agency building). Curated by Anton Grech, it features the work of Harry Alden, Gabriel Caruana, Joseph Casha, Philip Chircop, Emvin Cremona, Victor Diacono, George Fenech and Luciano Micallef and others. Opening hours are 15:30 - 19:00 on weekdays and 09:30 – 13:00 on Saturdays.

Diversity in Art 2

Ir- Razzett tal Markiz Mallia Tabone, Mosta, and L-Ghaqda Filantropika Talent Mosti are hosting a collective exhibition of mixed media by Joseph Agius, Anthony Paul Camilleri, John Carauana, Margaret Farrugia, Cedric Galea Pirotta, Doriette Gauci Sciortino, Charles Sammut and Mario Sammut. Open Monday to Friday and between 10:00 – 12:00 and 18:00 and 21:00 on Saturday and Sunday. This exhibition is being supported by Bank of Valletta plc and Marsovin Ltd.

An exhibition of 22 works by John Busuttil Leaver at the Main Hall of St James Cavalier, showcasing work painted over the course of three to ten years, thus displaying an evolving aesthetic.

Anna Nightingale

The artist’s latest works will be on display at Tal-Pillar Chapel (Near Anglican Church), West Street, Valletta. The exhibition will be curated by Christine Xuereb. More info: artitudegallerymalta@hotmail.com.

Malta Calling Warm-Up gig

Niki Gravino & The Vile Bodies, Carrie and BNI will be performing at a warm up gig for The Malta Calling Event in London at Poxx Bar, Paceville. An after party with music by DJ Estranjer will follow. Entrance at €8.50 includes a free drink.

Chasing Pandora at PlayRock

The duo will be performing songs from both Mocking the Mockingbird and Two, along with additional, previously unheard, material at PlayRock, Paceville. www.chasingpandora.com

Il-Manifest Tal-Killer

Lemonhead Theatre presents a rendition of Karl Schembri’s novel - as adapted by Bryan Muscat - at the MITP, St Christopher’s Street, Valletta. Shows start at 20:30. Vilified by the Daily Mail as a ‘disgusting feast of filth’ and revered by other critics as a masterpiece, Sarah Kane’s Blasted finally comes to St James Cavalier courtesy of Unifaun Theatre. Directed by maverick Californian Director Dave Barton and featuring American pro Bryan Jennings in the main role, together with locals Jo Caruana and Andrew Galea.
