Journalist demands access to inquiry’s DVDs and photos

A television journalist and a production house working on the Nicholas Azzopardi inquiry haves asked the court to grant access to DVD footage and photos included in the proceedings after they were forbidden by the Attorney General.
Jean-Paul Mifsud and Brainbox Limited filed a judicial protest against the Attorney General and Justice Minister Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici, claiming that their press freedoms were being breached in being disallowed from accessing the full inquiry.
The information would be essential for a new series of programmes called Wara l-Kaz to be broadcast on One TV. One of the programmes will be dealing with the death of Nicholas Azzopardi earlier this year after alleging police brutality.
