Immigration – Malta’s biggest problem

I fully endorse the contribution by Chev. M. Mizzi. It is an objective and candid analysis of the immigration situation.
Yes, since no effective aid came to our plight from our European neighbours/friends (sic) we have to put the cards on the table and face reality.
This immigrant invasion has reached alarming proportions and the situation is seriously threatening to get out of hand. Our forces stretched to the limit are facing collapse and the country is risking being overrun by these undesirables. At this rate we are gradually but surely being engulfed – eventually becoming a minority in our own country. These invaders bode a dark future to our safety and culture and locals are visibly worried. This traffic has to stop.
We did more than our share in all aspects to support and help these people. But enough is enough. In my opinion a stern unequivocal warning a clear public message should be delivered to prospective boat people who intend to persist in this adventure. They should know that henceforth no Maltese forces will be sent out to rescue them and if they manage to reach our shores regardless, under no circumstances will be allowed to land and will be forced to turn back.
Their fate is not our responsibility and if they choose to play with their own destiny and risk their lives, it’s their business.
Hopefully they will digest the message and cease to venture out of African shores – knowing what to expect where Malta is concerned.
At this point the Government is expected to take the bull by the horns and ignore all negative criticism and forge ahead in dealing with this emergency if it believes in the protection of its population.
This is a sacrosanct priority as charity begins at home!
