Seascape
FM Theatre productions present the Pulitzer-winning play by Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf author Edward Albee at St James Cavalier. Directed by Chris Gatt, the cast features Edward Mercieca, Denise Mulholland, Pia Zammit and Paul Portelli. Book at St James Cavalier: 21223200; bookings@sjcav.org.

Lacuna at Warehouse No. 8
Du' Theatre, hot off the heels of Medea, will be performing their loose adaptation of Trevor Zahra's short story collection Sepja at the brand new performance space in Marsa. The cast of Lacuna includes Magda van Kuilenburg, Franica Pulis, Kristjana Casha and Simone Spiteri, with musical accompaniment by Tim Ellis on piano, Chris Cini on violin and Michael Galea on percussion. Performances start at 21:00 and tickets are €11 (€8 for Warehouse no.8 membership holders). They can be purchased from Maestro e fresco (South Street, Valletta), Juuls Bar, (St.Julians), and from Warehouse No.8 runners. Manuel Felix Quintanilla at MCC
Manuel Felix Quintanilla's (1961-2008) first retrospective exhibition is currently on display at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. It is the sixth event taking place within the 2008 Tempra Academy Agenda - which comprises of eight nations from three different continents. Quintanilla, born in Burgos, Spain in 1924 is the President of the Essentialist Movement and wauthor of its Manifesto and moved to London in 1972. As an artist he holds works in 32 Museums worldwide, as author he published over 100 books on subjects as varied as history, art, philosophy, mythology and poetry. As a journalist he was the London correspondent for the Spanish national daily ABC and various art publications in Madrid, and as editor and publisher he established the London-based publications 'Essentialism' and 'Mundo Espanol'.

Exhibition of paintings by Dustin Cauchi at the Loggia, National Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta. Open from 09:00 until 17:00 (last admission at 16:30). The opening will also serve as a launch for Francesca Mangion's book, which will feature illustrations by the artist.

Series of paintings by Helga Portanier at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta. The works, whose media are tempera, ink and watercolour on paper, draw on textural inspiration from natural elements that surround us: bark, shells, fossils, shrubs.

Art From Within
Traveling collective exhibition of Art Brut paintings at the St James Cavalier Upper Galleries. The project originated at the Haus der Kunstler in Gugging, Austria, as part of the 'Kunst Von Innen' (Art from within) project. The exhibition is commissioned by the Ministry of European and International Affairs.

Sea Dreaming
Derek Nice returns to St James Cavalier with new works, made from recycled found objects and materials in collaboration with Vince Briffa (installation artist) Renzo Spiteri (percussionist) and Digby Atkinson (painter and printmaker).
