Tattoo
Actinghouse presents a Dea Loher domestic drama directed by Irene Christ at St James Cavalier. ‘Tattoo’ is a searing portrayal of the disintegration of a family and of a young woman’s struggle to forge her own identity and free herself from the shadow of a domineering and manipulative father. Loher uses poetic language to contrast the harsh reality of sexual child abuse. Cast includes Maria Buckle, Sarah Suda, Stefan Cachia Zammit, Simone Ellul and Nick Bonanno. Capitol K
Maltese-born indie-electronica musician Kristian Robinson, aka Capitol K, will be performing at Poxx Bar, Paceville alongside Vinnie Vintage, Danjieli and Ai. Doors open at 10pm. Tickets are available at Lm4 from D’Amato, Poxx Bar and Buon Café, Lm5 at the door. www.myspace.com/capitolk

Scream Daisy
Scream Daisy will be performing an exclusive unplugged set during the Fosos unplugged weekend. The band will be performing previously unreleased material as well as some of their more popular songs, which have been revisited for the occasion. Event starts at 11pm and is free.

14 September - 7 October
World Press Photo
World Press Photo will be visiting Malta for the very first time, exhibiting a series of award-winning photographs taken over 2006 at St James Cavalier. Among the 170 photos on display will be Spencer Platt’s top prize-winning shot taken in Lebanon just a day after the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. Founded in Amsterdam in 1955, the non-profit travelling exhibition aims to push photojournalism to the cultural forefront and to award the most poignant press photography of the year. Steve + Denise Scicluna
The brother-sister duo will be exhibiting urban photography and painting at the 2_22 wine bar in Marsamxett, Valletta. The exhibition will be the first in a series, as different artists will be on display each month at the venue.

Bodies
An exhibition of drawings by Gilbert Calleja, Jesmond Vassallo and Robert Zahra at the Contemporary Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta. The works are of a semi-collaborative nature and concentrate on the nude, as studied from life. Breaking Stereotypes
An open-air exhibition of artwork submitted by students taking part in the EU initiative entitled ‘Breaking Stereotypes’. The work of shortlisters from this poster competition will be on display at the St Julian’s Promenade. The 25 posters on display are the finalists from more than 750 students from the 270 different academies and universities that took part in the competition, representing all 25 EU member states. The competition and exhibition form part of an initiative that sets out to combat discrimination.

Antonio Sciortino in Gozo
An exhibition of sculptures from the National Collection by Antonio Sciortino, organised by Heritage Malta and the Gozo Cultural Council on the 60th Anniversary of the death of the artist at the Exhibition Hall Ministry for Gozo, Victoria Gozo. Free entrance. Open Monday to Friday from 8.30am - 12.30pm and on Saturday and Sundays from 9.00am - 12.00pm.

Participation by Heritage Malta in this International Exhibition organised by the ‘Schallaburg Kulturbetriebsges.m.b.H.’, at the ‘International Exhibition Centre’, ‘Schallaburg Castle’, Schallaburg Austria.

World Heritage: Humanity’s Gift to the Future
An exhibition produced by UNESCO and organised by Heritage Malta being shown as part of the Public Information and Consultation Campaign on the Management Plans for the Megalithic Temples of Malta. At the Lobby, National Museum of Archaeology, Valletta. Free Entrance. Open Monday to Sunday from 9.00am - 7.00pm (last admission at 6.30pm).

Malta’s Mediterranean Trilogy: Bread, Oil and Wine
An exhibition organised by Heritage Malta as part of the EU programme Trimed. At the Ta’ Kola Windmill, Xaghra Gozo. Open Monday to Sunday from 9.00am - 5.00pm (last admission at 4.30pm).
