Zminijietna satisfied with female nomination in judiciary

Zminijietna – Voice of the Left expresses satisfaction at the fact that for the first time, a woman has been finally nominated to serve on the European Court of Human Rights.
“The European selecting committee has long been insisting that one of the nominees had to be a woman in order to achieve gender equality. This is a milestone in the history of the Judiciary in Malta. It not only reflects gender equality but also sheds light on the competent abilities of female judges serving in the Maltese Courts of Justice.”
Whilst Zminijietna augurs success to all the judges nominated, it notes that the nominated woman has been selected due to her competence and not only because of her gender.
