Don’t blame hunters – FKNK

The Association for Hunting & Conservation Mellieħa (GħKNK Mellieħa) also condemned the vandal acts on trees at the Foresta 2000 site, as well as the ongoing vandalism at L-Aħrax tal-Mellieħa in afforested areas, while deploring attempts to blame such acts on hunters.
“Hunters and trappers are the pioneers of tree-planting and we will never accept that anyone tries dirty tactics or make unfounded accusations to try and tarnish responsible hunters and trappers,” the association said in a statement yesterday.
The FKNK appealed to the police to increase their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators, whilst urging the Mellieħa Local Council to take all necessary steps to ensure that these acts are not repeated.
