Taking liberties with Freedom Day

I was utterly amazed at the very poor reporting made by your journalist Charlot Zahra about the PL celebrations held at the Freedom Day monument at Vittoriosa. And more so on the way he reported Dr Joseph Muscat’s speech, which, according to Charlot Zahra lasted just “three minutes”, when at least it lasted 10 or more minutes!
The most important parts of Dr Muscat’s speech were completely left out of the report. To give just two examples: “I dream of the day… of the year… of the moment when we no longer remain half a people celebrating one day while the other half celebrates a different day”.
Or when Dr. Muscat said that his heart yearns for the day when our country liberates itself for ever from the political division which had even resulted in lack of communication between members of the same families and communities.
