Salv Gauci named Principle Electoral Commissioner

After consultation between Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Opposition leader Joseph Muscat, a decision has been taken to nominate veteran civil servant Salv Gauci to the post of Principle Electoral Commissioner.
Gauci, who has over 30 years’ experience in the public sector, comes to the role from the post of Director of the Budget Division within the Finance Ministry, which he has occupied since 2001.
Previously, Gauci sat on numerous government boards and has represented Malta in various international fora related to his specific area of expertise: in particular, the financing of public projects and the administration of public funds.
Salv Gauci, who is married to Carmen and has three children, was born in Gharghur in 1949.
