Marlene Mizzi is to head a Business Forum set up by the Labour Party with the scope to assist the party in drawing policies involving the business community.
Mizzi, a businesswoman who also chaired Sea Malta and contested the last elections for the European Parliament, said that the aim of the forum was to remove the perception that the Labour Party was more about blue collar workers than employers.
“The word workers embraced all those who worked, and all needed each other without any distinction,” she said.
PL leader Joseph Muscat stressed that things have changed drastically from the time when the PL was antagonistic towards the business community.
“This forum would serve as a core group headed by Marlene Mizzi which will meet all constituted bodies with bthe specific aim of discussing policies and current issues impacting on businesses.”
