May I make reference to your article entitled “Lisbon treaty overcomes last hurdle” (p.6 MaltaToday Midweek, edition of 4 November 2009) and the mention (in the text of the article and the photo caption) of my new post as “Malta’s representative on the newly-formed common EU Foreign Office”.
I would like to make the following clarification. The post to which I have recently been appointed by the European Commission is that of Director responsible for the Promotion of SME Competitiveness within the Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry. This has nothing to do with foreign affairs as stated in your article. Furthermore I am still the Head of Representation of the European Commission in Malta as I do not take up my post as Director in DG Enterprise until January 2010.
