Lacklustre line-up of MEP candidates

Your highlighting the nonsense over the disenfranchisement of non-Maltese no doubt helped to rectify the situation.
Ironically we now see advertisements telling us we should all use our vote as many people in the world do not even have that right! Who to vote for might present a problem until one narrows down the field, all of whom as Saviour Balzan points out, are first and foremost merely applying for a lucrative job. Those who originally opposed membership of the EU cannot be considered to be of sound judgement. Some sitting members appear to find the mechanics of voting a challenge, so leave them out too.
Despite the publicity about 960 odd non-Maltese who now have a vote, and that not only the majority of those but also, one suspects, quite a considerable number of Maltese are also without a command of the language, all leaflets stuffed through my door so far are in only one of our two official languages. So these people cannot want our vote. This leaves the Greens, be they of any party, who so far have not wasted paper on leaflets through my door, and a few prominent people like Prof. Edward Scicluna who would make a sensible contribution to any debate. Not much choice really!
