Reno Bugeja least biased TV journalist, Bondì most
A survey commissioned by MediaToday shows that veteran TVM journalist Reno Bugeja is considered the least politically biased TV journalist on the national broadcaster, while Where’s Everybody? presenter Lou Bondì is considered the most biased.
Bondì was considered to be the most biased of four presenters by 33.1% of respondents, and the least biased by 12.8% of respondents.
On the other hand Reno Bugeja is considered to be the least biased by 28.6% of respondents, and the most biased by just 10.3% of respondents.
MaltaToday editor Saviour Balzan, who presents Reporter on PBS, trails Bugeja as the second least partisan presenter. Only 12% consider Balzan as the most partisan of the four presenters on TVM.
On the other hand, Bondì’s WE partner Peppi Azzopardi is considered to be the second most partisan presenter.
The survey confirms Xarabank as the most popular TV programme, with a staggering 62% saying that they followed the programme on 20 February.
The programme is also considered to be the most informative and the one which discusses the hottest issues in the country.
Reno Bugeja’s Dissett emerges as the second most popular TV discussion programme on PBS, with 31% saying that they followed the programme on 21 February.
On Monday, Lou Bondì’s Bondiplus registers an audience of 18%, just ahead of Reporter which registers an audience of 16%.
The survey was held between Tuesday 24 February and Thursday 26 February. A total of 468 respondents were randomly chosen from the telephone directory with 300 accepting to be interviewed. The survey has a margin of error of +/-5.7%.
