Deidun clarifies The interview with the undersigned reported last Sunday may have given the impression that I tar all environmentalists, including FAA, with the same brush and that, in particular FAA, are politically motivated. The thrust of my statement was that only some environmentalists are politically motivated, and FAA are certainly not included in the cohort I had in mind. I respect the untiring work done by Astrid Vella and FAA and my utterance is not borne out of political expediency since I have helped FAA on a number of occasions in the past, as at Hondoq ir-Rummien, for example. It is unfortunate that a very small minority of environmentalists (again, not FAA) are resorting to subterfuge in order to further their own political aspirations, tainting the environmental movement in the process. Before I plunged into this new adventure, I strived to steer clear of any political affiliations myself and later on, to publicly declare my political sympathies to avoid backlashes on the environmental movement.
