Sanaa El Nahhal’s Palestinian brother, Samir, is expected to arrive tomorrow afternoon on flight from Cairo, after the Maltese government issued him with a visa.
40-year-old Sanaa, who has a Maltese passport after living in Malta for the last 20 years, was reunited with her family in Gaza last week, when she took with her a truckload of emergency aid after the 22-day Israeli siege, but she was held by Egyptian border police from exiting until the Maltese foreign office intervened.
Her brother plans to stay in Malta for a few weeks in his first trip out of Gaza in the last four years.
Speaking upon her return last Sunday, Sanaa said: “I refuse to accept the situation of the people in Gaza and want to give more. The small sufferings that I had during this trip are very small compared to what the people of Gaza suffer every moment and every second.”
